Related tadabbur and the interpretation of Surah An-Naba, we now enter the second part, namely contemplating the existence of the universe that is before us, which began from nothing, as proof that Allah is able to resurrect everything that was once alive and then experienced death.
This is a strong rebuttal for the polytheists who doubt, “Is it true that Allah can bring me back to life after I die and become bones?”
In connection with the series of verses that we will reflect on, namely verses six to sixteen, Sheikh Muhammad Ali Ash-Shabuni gave reasonable which is extraordinarily beautiful. He wrote,
Then Allah SWT pointed out the arguments that show His Almighty power to strengthen the arguments against the disbelievers regarding what they deny regarding the matter of resurrection, as if He had said: Allah, who is able to create these great creatures, is able to bring humans back to life after death.
“Allah Exalted gave a sign indicating his authority. Signal this as argument to the disbelievers who deny the existence of the Day of Judgment, namely the Day of Resurrection. It was as if it was being said to them, ‘That God, who is able to create these extraordinary creatures from nothing, is also able to bring people back to life after they die’.” (Shofwatut Tafasir, 3: 483)
Ibn Juzay God bless in the At-Tashil write,
It was as if he was saying: God, who is able to create these great creatures, is able to bring humans back to life after death, and perhaps he mentioned this as a postulate of monotheism because the one who created these creatures was only God, no partners.
“It was as if God said, “That Lord who is able to create these extraordinary creatures, is certainly also able to revive humans after they die.” This verse is also proof of monotheism, because the Substance that created all these creatures is Lord One, there is no shirk for him.” (At-Tashil li ‘Ulumit Tanzil, 2: 444)
Let’s reflect on all of God’s extraordinary creatures, so that our belief in the existence of the Last Day becomes stronger.
Allah Exalted said,
Have We not made the earth its birthplace?
“Have We not made the earth vast?” (QS. An-Naba’ [78]:6)
Allah made the earth an expanse, even made it comfortable like a mattress or bed so that humans could settle on the earth, could live there, and Allah made it easy for various kinds of plants to be planted. (At-Tashil li ‘Ulumit Tanzil, 2: 444; Shofwatut Tafasir, 3: 483)
Allah Exalted said,
And the mountains are the stakes
“And mountains as stakes?” (QS. An-Naba’ [78]:7)
Allah likens mountains to pegs because with these mountains, the earth becomes stable and does not sway to and fro, nor do earthquakes occur every day that will destroy human life. (Taishir Karimir Rahman, matter. 906)
Allah Exalted said,
And We created you in pairs
“We created you in pairs.” (QS. An-Naba’ [78]: 8)
God created human life as a pair of men and women, so that marriage could occur. In this way, humans have offspring and life on earth is uninterrupted. Allah created partners of each type, not other types, so that someone can have sakinah, mawaddahAnd blessing. (Taishir Karimir Rahman, matter. 906; Shofwatut Tafasir, 3: 483)

Allah Exalted said,
And We make your sleep restful
“We made your sleep to rest.” (QS. An-Naba’ [78]:9)
Allah makes sleep a time for the body to rest, stopping the busyness of looking for a living during the day. Allah makes sleepiness and sleep a pleasure for humans, so that humans can take a break from activities that constantly require body movement; which, if not stopped, will pose a danger to humans. (Taishir Karimir Rahman, matter. 906; Shofwatut Tafasir, 3: 483)
Allah Exalted said,
And We made the night a closing
“We make the night into clothing.” (QS. An-Naba’ [78]:10)
Night is likened to clothing, because night covers the face of the earth with darkness like clothing covers the limbs of the body. Apart from that, the darkness of the night covers the eyes. (Shofwatut Tafasir, 3: 483; At-Tashil li ‘Ulumit Tanzil, 2: 445)
Allah Exalted said,
And We made that day a living
“We use this day to make a living.” (QS. An-Naba’ [78]:11)
Afternoon is used as time to work, using the potential of the body and mind to meet the needs of daily life.
Allah created day and night so that human life is orderly, there is time to work and time to rest. If God made all time day, humans would surely perish because they were tired of not being able to rest. Likewise, if Allah made all times night, then humans would have difficulty working and meeting their daily needs.
Allah Exalted said,
And We built above you seven strong buildings.
“We built seven firms (heavens) above you.” (QS. An-Naba’ [78]:12)
Allah built seven layers of heaven above humans. Seven layers of heaven with creation from a perfect beginning, with an arrangement that never goes wrong, and is not damaged even though millions of years have passed. God made the sky like a roof for humans, which protects them from various dangerous events in outer space that could destroy them. (Shofwatut Tafasir, 3: 483)
Allah Exalted said,
And We made it a shining lamp
“We made a bright lamp (sun).” (QS. An-Naba’ [78]: 13)
Allah made in the sky a sun that shines and illuminates the earth. Its rays illuminate and provide warmth to the inhabitants of the earth. The heat is very suitable for life on earth, and is stable over a long period of time. Who can light the sun at the right temperature for life on earth? Of course only God can.
Allah Exalted said,
And We sent down from the press abundant water.
“We sent down rainwater from the clouds that fell in torrents.” (QS. An-Naba’ [78]: 14)
Allah sends rain from the clouds. Cloudy clouds are called al-mu’shirot, which means squeeze, because the clouds seem to be squeezed so that rain falls, like someone squeezing a sugar cane stalk and then the sugar cane juice comes down because it is squeezed. (At-Tashil li ‘Ulumit Tanzil, 2: 445)
Allah Exalted said,
to produce love and plants
“That We may grow with it grain and crops.” (QS. An-Naba’ [78]: 15)
Allah brings out with the same type of rainwater, various kinds of grains and plants, as food for humans and animals, a very extraordinary thing. Allah mentioned grains first (such as rice, corn, wheat, and the like) because humans need more grains urgebecause it is generally a staple food for humans.
Allah Exalted said,
And crazy cheeks
“And shady gardens.” (QS. An-Naba’ [78]: 16)
Allah also grows various kinds of plants with various functions. Plants that have hard stems are used as building materials for houses; fragrant plants used for perfume; Shady plants are used for shade, so they are all beneficial to humans.
That is a simple interpretation that we can convey to readers. Wait for the next series of interpretations, jazakumullahu khairan.
