Bismillah.
For preachers of faith, the name of the book Ushul Tsalatsah of course it’s familiar. Even though the original title referred to is Tsalatsatul Ushul; three main pillars in religion. Books or brochure This was written by a great Islamic reformer in the 12th century H; Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab at-Tamimi God bless.
He was known as a scholar who was persistent in preaching monotheism. As reflected in many of his works such as; Book of Tauhid alladzi huwa haqqullahi ‘alal’ abiid, Kasyfu Shubuhaat, Qawa’id Arba’, Masa’il Jahiliyah, Nawaqidhul Islametc. Among his many works are books Ushul Tsalatsah is a guide to getting to know the basics of monotheism and Islamic faith.
The specialty of this book is that it is full of arguments from the Qur’an and As-Sunnah, although in general the author includes more arguments from verses from the Qur’an than hadith. However, this does not reduce the scientific weight in it. Uniquely, this book is structured quite simply, so that it will make it easier for knowledge seekers and the general public to benefit and absorb the knowledge contained in it.
On this occasion, we try to summarize several principles and lessons related to tarbiyah (education and development of the people) contained in this great treatise. In essence, this is all already in the books or explanations of the scholars. As for here, we are simply compiling and rearranging what they explained.
First principle: The importance of the foundation of religious knowledge
We can learn this directly from the beginning of the treatise Ushul Tsalatsah; where the author includes Imam Bukhari’s speech God bless in the book authentic-his; that knowledge comes before words and deeds. The author presents this information after conveying four basic obligations for every human being; namely knowledge, charity. Preach, and be patient.
Second benefit: Pray for students’ well-being
In the brochure Ushul TsalatsahThe author often wishes his readers well. For example, he said, “Know, may God have mercy on you…” or, “Know, may God guide you to obey Him…” This shows us that the transmission of knowledge is based on the nature and feelings of love; affection between the teacher and the person being taught.
Ibn Qudamah God bless brought a hadith from Abdullah bin Amr bin al-‘Ash May Allah bless him and grant him peaceRasulullah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said, “Those who are merciful will certainly be blessed with ar-Rahman. Have mercy on the inhabitants of the earth, surely those above the sky will love you.” (Itsbat Shifatil ‘Uluww, NO. 15)
Third benefit: Knowing the basics of religious knowledge
Author of the book Ushul Tsalatsah It has been explained that the most basic knowledge is knowing God, knowing His prophet, and knowing the Islamic religion based on the postulates. These are the three main sciences that every Muslim must understand. Therefore, in the grave a person will be asked about three things; ‘Who is your God, who is your prophet, and what is your religion’. No one is able to answer it except the believer who has been given steadfastness by Allah with knowledge and understanding in his heart.
If we summarize, these three scientific materials have been represented in terms of creed, or more specifically the creed of monotheism. A creed that teaches that only God has the right to be worshipped, and a person cannot worship God unless he follows the laws and guidance of the Prophet. sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. This is the main axis of the Islamic religion contained in the two sentences of the shahada.
Fourth benefit: Obedience to the Prophet
Among the most valuable lessons in the pamphlet Ushul Tsalatsah The important thing is to believe in Allah’s blessings and to obey the Messenger of Allah. Sheikh Muhammad at-Tamimi God bless said, “Know, may Allah have mercy on you, that it is mandatory for every Muslim man and woman to learn and practice these three things. The first, that Allah created us and gave us sustenance. Allah did not leave us in vain.
My brothers who are blessed by Allah, what is meant by monotheism rububiyyah is belief in Allah as the only creator, ruler and regulator of the universe. Included in Allah’s rububiyyah is giving guidance to humans in living life. Therefore, God revealed books and sent apostles to explain to humans the correct way to worship God.
Fifth benefit: How to know God
Among the important lessons in the treatise Ushul Tsalatsah is knowing how to know God. Sheikh Muhammad at-Tamimi God bless said, “When it is said to you; by what can you recognize your Lord? Say; I know Him through His verses and His creatures.
In it, the Sheikh wants to show us that the way to know Allah includes Allah’s verses and also His creatures. This verse of Allah includes verses syar’iyah and verse Kauniyah. Paragraph syar’iyah in the form of revelations sent down by Allah to the apostles. As for the verse Kauniyah is everything that happens in the universe and shows the greatness and majesty of God. Includes sentences Kauniyah are night and day, sun and moon. Likewise, heaven and earth are part of the verse Kauniyah in the form of God’s creation.
Sixth benefit: Calls to everyone
Among the important benefits contained in the brochure Ushul Tsalatsah is a call that Allah addresses to all humans to worship God alone and abandon polytheism.
Sheikh Muhammad at-Tamimi God bless said, “It is Rabb who has the right to be worshipped. The proof is the word of Allah Story (which mean), “O people, worship your Rabb who created you and those before you, may you be pious. He is the One who made for you the earth as a bed and the sky as a roof and sent down rainwater from the sky so that Allah brought out with that water various fruits (crops) as sustenance for you, so do not make rivals to Allah in the state of your knowledge.” (QS. al-Baqarah: 21-22). Ibn Kathir God bless said, “The One who created everything, he is the one who has the right to be worshipped.”
This call is addressed to all people from the descendants of Adam; that is, Allah commanded them to worship Him alone and not associate partners with Allah (equated worship), and Allah explained that Allah is the one who has the right to be worshiped because only Allah created this universe.” (Look) Syarh Tsalatsah al-Ushul by Sheikh al-Utsaimin, p. 51 cet. Dar Tsurayya, 1426 AH)
Seventh benefit: Worship is the right of Allah alone
Among the extraordinary benefits contained in the brochure Ushul Tsalatsah obligated to purify worship of God alone and abandon polytheism; because it is a consequence of the recognition of Allah’s rububiyyah.
Sheikh Muhammad at-Tamimi God bless brings the word of Allah in surah Fushshilat verse 37,
And among the signs of His power are night and day, sun and moon. Do not bow down to the sun and the moon, but bow down to Allah who created them, if He is the only one you worship.ŮŽ
“And among His verses are night and day, sun and moon, so do not bow down to the sun and moon, bow down to Allah who created everything, if you only worship Him.”
Ibn Jarir ath-Tabari God bless explain,
And He said: (If it is Him you worship) He said: If you worship Allah and submit to Him in obedience; One of the obediences to Him is that you worship Him sincerely, and do not associate anything other than Him in your obedience and worship to Him, because worship is not appropriate for other than Him and is not appropriate for anything other than Him.
“His words (which mean), ‘If you only worship Him’, means: If you truly worship Allah and humble yourself to Him with full obedience. Because indeed part of obeying Allah is to purify your worship of Him and you must not associate your obedience to Him with anyone other than Him. (See Tafsir ath-Tabari)
Ibn Kathir God bless said,
Meaning: Do not associate anything with Him, because your worship of Him will benefit you along with your worship of other people, because He will not forgive you if you associate other people with Him.
“This means, do not associate anything with Him; your worship of Allah will be of no use to you if it is accompanied by worship of other than Him. For indeed Allah will not forgive the sin of shirk towards Him.” (Look Tafsir Ibn Kathir)
Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih al-Utsaimin God bless explain,
Among the virtues of this noble verse is the prohibition of bowing down to the sun and moon, as He says: ((Do not bow down to the sun or moon)) even though they are signs of God, they are created, and bowing down is only to the Creator.
“Among the virtues of this noble verse is the prohibition of bowing down to the sun and moon. Because Allah says (which means), ‘Do not bow down to the sun and moon.’ Even though both are verses from Allah, both are creatures, while prostration can only be addressed to al-Khaliq (creator of creatures)…” (See Tafsir al-Qur’an al-Karim)
